These are unsupported game features that work on most hardware. Be sure and back up your prefs.ini file!

Find your prefs.ini file. you may need to Show Hidden Folders to see the path. For example:

  C:\Documents and Settings\Jinxis Yoshi\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE\settings\prefs.ini
  
Make a backup copy of it.

Add this line to enable extra graphics options like vertical sync and anisotropic filtering. Capitalization is important:

  advancedDevice=1

Adjust this line to be about half of your system's RAM. For 1G of RAM, use:

  buffersize=512

Lauch EVE and open up your ESC-Graphics tab. You will have a new Device Settings section.

Enable this to access the advanced features:

  Multisample Type: Enable Multisample Quality

Set the anisotropic filtering level of choice. Level 1 seems to be good enough. Level 0 means no filtering.

  Multisample Quality: 1

Set the vertical sync level to eliminate tearing effects:

  Present Interval: Interval One
  

You may need to reload. Not all video cards will show the same set of selections.
